Guinness World Records Committee is considering the application of the “One thousand angels and one painting” project which was submitted last week to the art category.
According to organizers, the project of the world-renowned artist Lekim Ibragmov is unique and deserves to be in the Records Book because of the large scaled incarnation of the idea. First of all, there is a metamorphosis used for the first time in the modern art. It is when thousands of separate canvases unite to form a new distinct painting. The gigantic size of the painting as well as the idea of its exposition are worth mentioning too. Considering all of these, the project was submitted to the “Art“ category as “The world’s largest painting consisting of 1000 pieces“.
The Guinness World Records is published annually and contains a collection of world records, both human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. The first book was published in 1955. The “Guinness”, an Irish brewing company, commissioned it. The idea of producing this guide came to the mind of Hugh Beaver, the manager of «Guinness Brewery». He decided that the book of the world records would be an indispensable companion to regulars of beer pubs during their disputes about questions of a variety of quizzes.
Currently, the Guinness World Records is published in 23 languages in over 100 countries. The book itself holds a world record, as the best-selling copyrighted book series of all time.
